This boy is a jinx. He ought to change his name to "Murphy". No matter how well I'm flying that day, the first mission he and I fly together, I always end up dying. I can't figure it out. He's actually an okay pilot and he keeps away from the front of my ship usually. He's depressing as hell and I'd strangle him if I had to spend any time in the cockpit with him, but other than that he's a good wingman. He gets better in the ten years separating WC1: SM2 and WC2. Soon after WC2: SO2, Doomsday is transferred from the Concordia to serve on the Tarawa with "Bear" Bondarevsky. He takes part in the first raid on Kilrah where they take out an orbital shipyard with six heavy carriers several escorts, then on to the bloody battle of Terra where Confed successfully defend Earth from destruction despite heavy losses; and, contrary to everything he says, survives.

Jason Bondarevsky: "Damn it, man, for years I've heard you prophesy that the war was going to kill you. You've got eight campaign ribbons, a medal of honor, two silver stars, the Vega Victory Aard ith diamonds, half a dozen fighters shot out from under you...."
