Troy Carter was born as a Third Generation Borderworlder, but was sent by to the Terran Naval Academy on Earth, here he graduated top of his class days before Col. Blair and he were posted to the Lexington together. He felt honored when flying alongside Blair and learned from him. He confided in the Colonel about his doubts about the missions they were flying against the Border Worlds on board the Lexington. When Blair chose to defect, Catscratch joined him. On the BWS Intrepid he continued to fight bravely, and in his downtime fraternized with the ships Chief Comm Tech Velina Sosa. His error came in taking advice and listening to Maniac, and on a solo mission as forced to eject. He was rescued by Blair, but his "maniac" style tactics got him grounded for the remainder of the campaign.
