Downtown was taken prisoner on Ghorah Khar when he was a kid. A Kilrathi nobleman was going to kill him when Hobbes intervened, knowing that to do less would be dishonorable. Downtown eventually joined the Confederation and became a pilot on the Concordia, flying with the Kilrathi who saved him. He died in the Enigma system in 2667 when flying alone on patrol he was ambushed by ten Drakhri.
