Jacob Manley
Callsign:Hawk

Rank:Colonel
Homeworld: Mylon II

Appearences:WC4, WCP
Major Campaigns: Border Worlds Conflict, Nephilim Engagement

Hawk fits his callsign to a 'T'. A veteran of the War, he serves the Border Worlds onboard the Intrepid as one of her most experienced pilots. He is a superb pilot, but his long years in the War along with the destruction of his homeworld whilst he was away at the academy by the Kilrathi have taken most of his compassion and humanity away, and he finds it difficult to get to grips with protecting the Kilrathi from humans. But he survives the Intrepid and keeps flying for te next 9 years until he is assigned to the TCS Midway.

In WC Prophecy we see a true warrior: equally skilled at planning out strategies as he is at flying in the heat of battle. He [Hawk] sees every conflict in terms of right and wrong; this makes him an effective fighter but slow to accept inevitable change. He is vital in helping Lt. Casey over his guilt about losing Blair with stories about his father. However, soon after they are asked to escort the Cult of Sivar, a group of Kilrathi Terrorists, against attacks from the unknown alien. He is enraged, and in an argument points out the savageness of the Kilrathi in decsribing Casey's father's death.

When he is furious over not destroying these Kilrathi, Lt. Casey returns his favours by calming him down after a heated discussion. He is soon ambushed and killed on patrol by the unknown alien forces.

As Spyder tells Casey shortly after Hawk's death about the eradication of his homeworld by the Kilrathi: "Hawk died that day. Today was just a formality."
