During the late stages of the War, Melek served as the retainer, or chee'ydachee of Prince Thrakhath himself. He observed the Prince's lust for power and watched those around him corrupt their heritage and plunge into blackness. He watched the downfall of his civilization until what was prophesised occured, and Blair destroyed Kilrah, taking the chance to surrender to the Confederation. Melek represented the Kilrathi Empire at the signing of the Treaty of Torgo which ended the Kilrathi/Terran War. When we meet him in WC4, he is the principle leader of the Kilrathi. We encounter him when his convoy is attacked by pirates and escort him to the new Kilrathi home system of Pasqual. Melek always had a respect for "The Heart of the Tiger," as he calls us, and he aids us in our search for the truth behind the random attacks.
