Thaddeus O'Brian botched parking a destroyer shortly after graduating from the academy and spent the rest of his career flying Transports after Confed took him away from the military vessels realising his incompetence. As a transport Captain he held a very unpatriotic grudge against the front line men for grabbing all the glory, and as very resentful to anyone who insulted his rather feeble transport designs. After pulling a few strings he was assigned to captain the TCS Tarawa, hoping to use it as an aid to his promotion. He as a slimey maggot out for number one, and often sucked up to the brass or even Kevin Tolwyn for his connections to his uncle in a hope to rise in the ranks. However soon enough he found out that he was to take his task force to Kilrah. He bore a na•ve grudge against Jason Bondarevsky and viewed him as dangerous after the Gettysburg incident, not believing him to be in the right. However, he as a complete coward and on more than one occasion attempted to compromise the mission, putting his own neck above that of Confed's entire fleet. He was killed when a strakha suicide-runned the Tarawa's bridge. He died painfully (justice!).
Back to Wing Commander Characters pageer for power. But he wasn't really cut out to run the Lexington. He took over from Captain Eisen when they conspiracy found that Eisen could not be persuaded to join the project, and was supplying the Border Worlds information. He botches up everything by losing Eisen, the other defectors and the Lexington herself, and Seether "reassigns" him elsehere with the help of a very sharp knife.
