Ratha was the son of the then Crown Prince Gilkarg nar Kiranka. His bloodlust was strong even for a Kilrathi, and failed to acknowledge the warrior spirit and strength of his human opponents. As a result, when he participated in the opening conflict of the war at MacAuliffe, he was forced to eject from his fighter when he lost a fight with then Ensign Tolwyn and his Wildcat. Ashamed by he defeat, he commited suicide before he could be recovered.
